Sashka Zhelyazkova

Sashka Zhelyazkova is an Associate professor of Neurology at Sofia Medical University’s Faculty of Medicine and in the Clinic for Nervous diseases of Alexandrovska hospital, Sofia. She received her scientific and educational degree “Doctor of Medicine” at Sofia Medical University for a thesis on inherited focal epilepsy. Her primary clinical interests focus on epilepsy and inflammatory disorders of the nervous system. She also participates as an expert in the Commissions for the treatment of patients with rare diseases (hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis, Wilson disease), Multiple sclerosis and NMO at Alexandrovska Hospital. 
Associate professor Sashka Zhelyazkova has more than 40 scientific publications in international scientific journals with an impact factor and in Bulgarian refereed scientific journals. She is an author of 1 monograph about focal epilepsy. As part of the Medical University of Sofia she contributes to the training of medical students, physicians of the course of general medicine and EEG training of physicians for acquiring the specialty of “Neurology”.
