Tuncay Gündüz, MD, is Associate Professor of Neurology at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, where he combines an active clinical practice with translational research in neuroimmunology. His main areas of interest are multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, MOG antibody-associated disease, and neuro-Behçet’s disease, with particular emphasis on diagnostic criteria, long-term prognosis, and treatment outcomes.
He has contributed to more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and has authored book chapters on the differential diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, monoclonal antibody therapies, central nervous system barriers, and tele-neurology. He has also presented widely at international congresses, including AAN, ECTRIMS, and EAN.
His current research projects include real-world effectiveness and safety studies of disease-modifying therapies, comparative analyses of diagnostic criteria in radiologically isolated syndrome, biomarker discovery in inflammatory demyelinating diseases, and the application of deep learning to MRI-based diagnosis and prognosis in central nervous system autoimmune disorders.
